Setup Guide
Set Up Bike2Game
Connect a compatible Bluetooth cadence sensor and turn pedaling into a virtual controller, VRChat OSC movement, or W-key input on Windows.
1. Requirements
- Windows 10 64-bit build 19041 or later, or Windows 11.
- A Bluetooth Low Energy adapter.
- A compatible cadence sensor that exposes crank cadence through the Bluetooth Cycling Speed and Cadence service.
- Bike2Game and all files included with its published build.
HIDMaestro.Core.dllversion 1.3.17 next toBike2Game.exe.- .NET 10 Desktop Runtime x64 if you are using the framework-dependent build.
2. Install Bike2Game
- Download the Bike2Game ZIP file.
- Extract the entire archive to a normal folder. Do not run the app directly from inside the ZIP.
- Make sure
HIDMaestro.Core.dllversion 1.3.17 is in the same folder asBike2Game.exe. - If the DLL is missing, download the official HIDMaestro release and copy
HIDMaestro.Core.dllbesideBike2Game.exe. - Start Bike2Game. Administrator permission is required because the virtual controller driver needs elevated access.
3. Connect your cadence sensor
Follow these steps in Bike2Game:
- Wake the cadence sensor. Rotate the pedals a few times so the sensor starts broadcasting.
- Open Options and choose Select Bluetooth device.
- Select your cadence sensor. In the Select Bluetooth device window, choose your sensor from the list and click Select. If it does not appear, wake the sensor again and click Rescan.
- Click Connect and start. After the device is selected, return to the main Bike2Game window and click Connect and start.
- Start pedaling and check the RPM display. When the CSC Measurement subscription is active, the cadence display should begin showing your RPM.
RadioNotAvailable, Windows is not currently providing an available Bluetooth radio to the app.
Check that Bluetooth is enabled and that your Bluetooth adapter is working.
4. Choose an output mode
Bike2Game supports three output modes. Only one output mode is active at a time.
Virtual Controller
Converts cadence into Xbox-compatible virtual controller input for controller-compatible Windows games.
VRChat OSC
Sends cadence-scaled movement to VRChat through OSC.
W Key
Turns pedaling into a simple binary W-key input for games that use keyboard movement.
5. Virtual controller setup
- Select the virtual controller output mode in Bike2Game.
- Connect the cadence sensor and start pedaling.
- Open a game that supports controller input.
- Use the game's normal controller settings to configure movement if needed.
Positive cadence has a minimum 5% controller input so slow pedaling can still register. At 185 RPM, Bike2Game reaches full configured stick or trigger input.
6. VRChat OSC setup
- Enable OSC in VRChat.
- Select the VRChat OSC output mode in Bike2Game.
- Connect the cadence sensor and start pedaling.
- Bike2Game sends movement to
/input/Verticalon127.0.0.1:9000.
Cadence is scaled to forward movement. At 100 RPM or higher, Bike2Game also sends the Run input. Positive cadence has a minimum 5% movement value.
7. W-key mode
W-key mode is binary. When you pedal, Bike2Game sends W input. When you stop pedaling, the input stops. This mode is useful for games where you only need simple forward movement.
8. Supported sensors
Bike2Game requires a Bluetooth Low Energy cadence sensor that provides crank cadence data using the standard Cycling Speed and Cadence profile.
Bike2Game has been tested with the COOSPO BK9C.
Not supported:
- ANT+ only sensors.
- Proprietary-only Bluetooth sensors.
- Wheel-speed-only sensors that do not provide crank cadence.
- Sensors that expose cadence only through the Bluetooth Cycling Power service.
9. Troubleshooting
The cadence sensor is not found
Rotate the pedals to wake the sensor, confirm Bluetooth is enabled, move the sensor closer to the PC, and make sure no other app or device is holding the sensor connection.
The sensor connects but RPM stays at 0
The sensor may not provide crank revolution data through the CSC Measurement characteristic. Confirm that it supports the Cycling Speed and Cadence service and crank cadence.
Bike2Game says HIDMaestro.Core.dll is missing
Download the official HIDMaestro release and copy HIDMaestro.Core.dll version 1.3.17
into the same folder as Bike2Game.exe.
Why does Windows ask for administrator permission?
Bike2Game needs elevated permission to install and manage the virtual controller driver.
The game does not react to pedaling
First confirm that RPM changes inside Bike2Game. Then check that the correct output mode is selected. For Virtual Controller mode, the game must support controller input. If it does not, try W-key mode.
VRChat does not move
Confirm OSC is enabled in VRChat and that VRChat is running on the same PC. Bike2Game sends OSC to
127.0.0.1:9000.
